Street jazz with Tom
A jazz lover shares tunes on a city street with someone just as passionate. Play along, ask anything and feel the music, instead of just hearing it.
Some things can't be learned through a screen. Humanchat puts you in a room with someone brilliant at it: jazz, hiking, woodcarving, raising kids. They show you how. You do it with your own hands.
A way to learn a real skill from a real person, in the same room.
You pick something you want to learn. You meet someone who is great at it. They show you how, in person. That's the whole idea.
Anyone who is good at something. A street musician. A carpenter. A parent of three. Someone who moved to a new city five years ago and learned how it works.
You agree a day and a place. You meet. They show you how, with the real thing in your hands, and you can ask anything as you go.
A video can't see what you're doing wrong. A person next to you can fix it in the moment, and show you how it should feel.
Videos and calls are great for information. But the things that stay with you, the feel of a chisel, the breath behind a note, only click when someone is next to you.

We had to do something.
Everything we learn, buy, say and feel now passes through a glass rectangle. Lessons became videos. Friends became feeds. Somewhere along the way, nobody was in the room.
It can't go on like this. People learned everything that matters, from walking to carving to music, by watching someone else do it, up close. We traded that for a feed. It's time to go back.
Humanchat is our answer: a place built to get you off the screen and next to a real person. Someone brilliant at something, sitting beside you, showing you how.
Not another app to scroll. A reason to put the phone down.
Stock footage, shown as an example. Real experts will appear when we open.
Say you've always wanted to try woodcarving. Here is how it could go.
Browse experts in your area, read what each one teaches, and pick the one who feels right.
Choose a day, a place that works for you both, and one session or a series. You see the price before you commit.
You meet in their workshop. They put the tools in your hands and show you how, one step at a time.
Book another session, or take what you learned home and keep making.
These are examples of sessions experts could offer. If you're good at something, somebody out there wants to learn it.

High up on a mountain trail, a beginner learns the tricks of the trek: how to read the path, pack light and pace yourself.
An experienced parent shares what worked and eases a new parent's worries, with real answers over a walk in the park.
Fix your serve with someone who plays, on a real court. They see what you can't feel, and correct it on the spot.
Someone who has been there shows you how a new city really works: the shortcuts, the people, the places worth your time.
Learn to see light and composition while you walk with a pro. They look at your shots and show you what to change.
You can learn in one area and teach in another. Pick where you start.
Starting a hobby, changing career or finding your feet in a new place? Learn it from someone who has already done it.
You don't need a certificate. If you know something well and enjoy sharing it, you can be an expert, and get rewarded for it.
We check every expert and learner before their first session, so you meet real people with real profiles. Nobody is anonymous, and anyone can report something that feels off.
Meet in places you choose, with clear guidelines for every session. If something doesn't feel right, you can leave and tell us, and we act on it.
Experts set their own rates and you see the price before you commit. You pay per session or for a series, and a small part of each payment supports the platform.
We've gained convenience but lost the richness of face-to-face: gestures, expressions, a person who is actually there. Humanchat is how we get that back, one real conversation at a time.

Real skills
Humanchat only works when the person who wants to learn and the person who can teach live close enough to meet. So we're opening in one city first, and getting it right before we go anywhere else.
London is dense. A learner and an expert are usually a short trip apart, on a bus or the Tube, no car needed.
Musicians, makers, coaches, parents who have worked it out. A city this big has people who are great at almost anything.
One city lets us meet the first experts in person, make every early session a good one, and learn before we grow.
Short reads on learning from people, not screens.
You can learn the steps from a video. Doing them is another story.

Anyone who is good at something or deeply knowledgeable in their own way. That could be a jazz saxophonist, a carpenter or a parent who has been through it. We review every expert before they can teach.
